Four Concepts for the Holding Environment

Each concept interprets the same idea — architecture that holds, with an organic current inside. Compare them below in three formats: the icon alone, the primary wordmark lockup, and a monochrome version for versatility.

Holding Arch

An abstract archway with an interior wave — structure that holds, with a current of life inside.

The lead concept. A clean arch suggests shelter and containment, while the gentle interior wave introduces warmth and movement. Scales beautifully to a favicon and reads instantly at social-media size.

Bridge

A horizontal beam with a flowing curve beneath — the span between clinician and client.

A suspension-bridge silhouette communicates connection and safe passage. The beam grounds the mark; the curve beneath softens it. A strong choice for a practice centered on relational work.

Container

An open geometric frame with a concave organic base — a vessel built to hold.

The most literal interpretation of a holding environment: a vessel. Crisp right angles convey structure and boundaries, while the concave base curves inward to suggest care and capacity.

Threshold

A minimal portal with a vertical S-curve — the doorway into the work.

A doorway outline marks the threshold clients cross when they begin. The vertical S-curve through the center adds a sense of journey and transformation. The most editorial of the four.

How to read these concepts

  1. Icon / Symbol

The mark on its own. This is what lives in a favicon, a social avatar, or an app tile — it must read clearly at 16px.

  2. Icon + Wordmark

The primary lockup used on the website header, business cards, and letterhead. The wordmark is set in Fraunces, our display serif.

  3. Monochrome

A single-color version proving the mark holds up without its gold accent — essential for stamps, embossing, and dark backgrounds.
